"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in a proper diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease." -Thomas A Edison

Automobile Accidents:
Injuries resulting from auto accidents attribute to stressful hurdles in today's society. Often, certain types of auto injuries aren't initially apparent and remain hidden for months or even years. Problems occur when injuries are not properly dealt with or accident victims settle with insurance companies before getting checked by doctors specializing in soft tissue injuries.

Whiplash Injury:
Whiplash refers to injuries sustained to the neck resulting from abrupt backwards, forwards, or sideways movement of the head. Regardless of whether it results from an auto accident, physical activity, or work related mishaps, whiplash necessitates a complete chiropractic evaluation. Often, symptoms related to whiplash take years to manifest, delaying treatment and prompting the onset of serious complications. Nearly half of all whiplash victims claim to suffer from symptoms even two years after settling their insurance claims.

Work Injury:
Although employers hopefully take preventive precautions, work injuries may still occur and rehabilitation is then required for employees to recover. Should one fall victim to a work injury, it's important to understand that chiropractic care is covered by worker's compensation insurance. Studies show that chiropractic care combined with occupational therapy is more effective and far more cost efficient than medical care.

Arthritis, Bursitis, & Tendonitis:
Bursitis occurs when bursae - small sacs between bone and moving parts like skin, muscle, or tendons - become inflamed or irritated, preventing smooth gliding between moving parts. Tendonitis occurs when tendons - thick, fibrous chords that secure muscle to bone - become inflamed or irritated.

Carpal Tunnel:
Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when one of the body's peripheral nerves become compressed or traumatized. The nerve in question is the median nerve - a nerve that controls sensations to the palm side of the thumb and first three fingers. When the median nerve becomes compressed or squeezed at the wrist due to irritated tendons or similar swelling, it results in pain, weakness, or numbness in the hand and wrist which radiates up the arm.

Lower Back Pain:
It's believed that imbalances in the spinal structure often result from prolonged muscle strain, causing continuous tension on the discs, ligaments, muscles and bones. This tension is problematic, as it makes the back more susceptible to injury or re-injury. In general, any injuries to the discs, ligaments, and muscles that support the spine may lead to various forms of lower back pain.

Headaches:
Headaches are often caused when spinal nerves and the surrounding tissues become irritated or stretched. Initially, these nerves and blood vessels may become affected if the bones of the spine become misaligned or lose motion. Although aspirin and other medications are available to dull the pain of headaches, they do not remedy the underlying cause, which is often a failure in the proper workings of spinal bones in the upper back and neck.
